Connection
Gather at 10:00 am at the Valley Community Church, 4455 Del Valle Parkway, Pleasanton (phone: 925-846-6622). Register for the day, enjoy coffee, pastries and juice and enjoy a social TeamWalk kick-off time.

TeamWalk For Our Cures walkathon
At 10:45, the group will head out from the church down Main Street into downtown Pleasanton for a TeamWalk walkathon. You can walk, stroll or roll as little or as much as you'd like. This year, the church will hold a community Run in conjunction with the TeamWalk, with proceeds to support SPF!

Our TeamWalk is a walkathon to raise funds for research. It is a pre-paid event. You collect sponsorships for your participation, not distance walked. Visit our Tips page for fundraising tips and a Sample Letter. Use this Sponsorship Form to keep track of your sponsors and mail it in with your donations one week ahead of the TeamWalk (bring late sponsorships with you).

Lunch Connection and Program
After the TeamWalk, meet back at the church for a Lunch Connection with a special program regarding PLS and HSP.

Special Notes
There will be a Friday Night Arrival Dinner organized at the nearby Hilton Pleasanton Hotel. Please note below if you'd like to attend it. Individuals will pay for their own dinners there.

For travelers: Rooms are set aside for our group at a rate of just $65 until September 8 (Spastic Paraplegia Foundation group). The Hilton has ten handicapped accessible rooms and two of them have roll-in showers. Their phone number is 925-463-8000 or call the Hilton worldwide services at 800-445-8667.

The Registration Fee for the TeamWalk Connection is $10 per person. This reserves your TeamWalk T-shirt. Register early, as sizes cannot be guaranteed.

Why Your Support Matters

There is currently no treatment to prevent, stop or reverse the degenerative process in PLS or HSP. These diseases attack one�s ability to walk, often leaving their victims in wheelchairs. They can also rob people of the ability to use their hands and arms, and ,even to speak or cause other neurological problems as well. The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation is the only organization in the Americas that is dedicated to raising funds specifically for HSP and PLS research. The organization is 100% volunteer-managed and the TeamWalk For Our Cures is the national, community event to raise funds for research.
