Connection
Gather at 10:00 a.m. at the centennial campus of NC State University at 10:00 a.m. Our reserved area includes a covered plaza, open field, and a wide boulevard. Meet with others managing life with HSP or PLS, share your stories and concerns and enjoy time together. Special Note: We are deeply honored that Dr. Bedlack from Duke University, a researcher on motor neuron diseases and a physical therapist who specializes in spasticity management will share the latest on research and treatment.

TeamWalk For Our Cures walkathon
A one-mile TeamWalk walkathon will be organized. Walk, stroll or roll as much or as little as you desire. The North Carolina Roadrunner's Club will join SPF efforts with their own 1-mile competitive run to raise funds for SPF Research Awards in honor of Sarah Witt, TeamWalk Connection organizer.

The TeamWalk is a pre-paid walkathon to raise funds for research. You collect sponsorships for your participation in the event, not distance walked. Visit our Tips page for fundraising tips and a Sample Letter. Use this Sponsorship Form to keep track of your sponsors and mail it in with your donations one week ahead of the TeamWalk (bring late sponsorships with you). All funds raised through TeamWalk will support SPF Research Awards.

Friday Arrival Dinner and information for travelers
A Friday Arrival Dinner will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Brownstone Inn Holiday Inn restaurant, Ledo Pizza. Individuals will pay for their own dinners there. Please indicate below if you would like to participate.

Rooms have been set aside at a discounted rate at the Holiday Inn. Call 800-331-7919 or 919-828-0811 and mention the SP Foundation to get a rate of $87.

The Registration Fee for the TeamWalk Connection is $10 per person. This reserves your TeamWalk T-shirt. Register early, as sizes cannot be guaranteed.

Why Your Support Matters

There is currently no treatment to prevent, stop or reverse the degenerative process in PLS or HSP. These diseases attack one�s ability to walk, often leaving their victims in wheelchairs. They can also rob people of the ability to use their hands and arms, and ,even to speak or cause other neurological problems as well. The Spastic Paraplegia Foundation is the only organization in the Americas that is dedicated to raising funds specifically for HSP and PLS research. The organization is 100% volunteer-managed and the TeamWalk For Our Cures is the national, community event to raise funds for research.
